Snitzel’s Joy certainly bought a lot of joy to her trainer, breeder and connections as she continued the successful streak of the stable by winning the Veuve Society Membership Class 4 over 1050m at Doomben on Wednesday. The win takes Danny J Bougoure’s statistics to an impressive 30% win and 70% place ratio after scoring 3 wins, 3 seconds and 1 third out of his last 10 runners.
Snitzel’s Joy raced with the blinkers on for the first time and although she was a little fired up and on the toe in the mounting yard they definitely did the trick in keeping her focused.Having lead all the way Snitzel’s Joy battled it out down the straight with the 2-1 favourite.Returning to scale apprentice jockey Tiffani Brooker commented “Snitty was she was never going to let the other horse pass her”. The last 600m was a handy 33 seconds on the slow rated track with the winning margin 0.2L with 3.7L to third.
Snitzel’s Joy takes her career statistics to 3 wins and a third from 6 starts and gives Danny even more confidence that purchasing her half-brother at the Magic Millions January Sale was a great decision.
The colt by Current Leading First Season Sire Smart Missile out of the Spectrum mare Rainbow Joy was purchased for $120,000 plus GST.The colt has gone ahead in leaps and bounds since the January sale and looks every inch the athlete.
