They say that you need a lot of luck in racing and that is particularly true of La Cigale. He has been a horse that the stable has always had a high opinion of but he just couldn’t put it together to score the elusive win. Bad barrier draws and leader bias tracks all worked against the well bred son of Lonhro out of the outstanding mare Madame Pedrille. All the planets aligned though last Friday as La Cigale scored a fantastic win at Grafton. With the blinkers back on Cassie Schmidt had him perfectly positioned throughout so by the time they came into the straight he was able to sprint away from the pack to win easing up by 4.3 Lengths.
