Danny was recently honoured as the 2014 Inductee into the Doomben 10,000 Fraternity for his efforts in training Falvelon to win back to back Doomben 10,000’s.
Falvelon remains the only entire to have won the Doomben 10,000 twice (2001-2002) and he still holds the race record of 1.17.2 for his first win 2001 when ridden by Michael Cahill.
The Doomben 10,000 is the premier sprint race of the Queensland Winner Carnival and attracts a strong field every year. Other notable winners of the Doomben 10,000 include Chief de Beers (1995 & 1998), Bel Espirit (2003), Takeover Target (2007), and Apache Cat (2008-09).
The Official Plague was awarded to Danny at a lunch conducted by the Kingston Town Club held at Eagle Farm Racecourse.
